This Imperial stout was brewed with a complex grain bill and extended boil time. After aging in both Willet Rye and Willet Family Estate barrels for 30 months, we then conditioned the beer on Madagascar vanilla beans before packaging. A silky oily body meets dark fruit, brownies, and creamy vanilla.

Poured at fridge temp into a small Mortalis glass. Pours an insanely thick black with zero head. The nose is amazing. Vanilla bursts out of the glass and dominates initially. Also getting chocolate, dark fruit, cake icing, and bourbon.
The taste is equally insane. I get a note of brandy and bourbon right away, despite the fact that no brandy barrels were used. Maybe it's the dark fruit notes from the stout and the extended barrel aging that brings out the brandy notes. Vanilla is here, but not as much as expected based on the nose. Honestly, I'm happy about this. This leaves room for other flavors to emerge, and boy do they ever. Picking up notes of walnuts, rye, dark malts, molasses, toffee, caramelized sugar, dark berries, bread, icing, and brownies. Truly an amazing stout. They definitely know what they are doing!
The mouthfeel is out of this world. The extended boil created an oily and crazy thick beer. Easy 5/5 for me. The aftertaste is vanilla and chocolate.
