This imperial Stout is a collaboration with Mama Lor's Café. This batch has been aged in small format cherry brandy barrels and then conditioned on almond cookies. The smooth brandy blends with the almonds providing layers of Funfetti, cookie dough and slightly tart cherry.

The pour on this is straight motor oil - not sure there was event the slightest hint of carbonation buildup as it cascaded into the glass.
The nose is the expected brandy Leto bliss - funfetti icing and marzipan, but this time that touch of cherry gives all the cherry almond cake vibes you could need. Fresh baked pie, crumbled dessert, whatever your poison is, this thing has such a fantastic aroma.
The palate immediately makes the newcomer brandy known - a punch of sharp, mildly tart cherry leads the way for spiced fruit, a touch of new leather, and toasted almonds on the mid-palate. On the back-end there's a bit of a luxardo sweetness, rounding out the experience to be much like a kirsch. Dry, almond-forward, tart, and fruity. Could be a bit much for some, but I'd argue this is the best marriage of brandy type and adjuncts they could do for this.
The feel of this has good weight and comes on a touch syrupy. It could use a slightly higher carbonation level to help cut the texture. Finish is warming and with great length. The booze is certainly present.

Sampled at the 2025 Mortalis Buffalo Luau party. Poured to a small ounce taster. Color is deep, dark old blood. Aroma is ENORMOUS fresh cherry, with some leather, hoarhound, and brandy goodness. One of the nicest aromas I have smelled in a while. Flavor is off the charts. The other versions have an overall mellowness to them, whereas the cherry brandy here makes this pop in your mouth first, followed with that wave of almond smoothness. Mouthfeel is full, sub-syrupy. Alcohol is up there at 13%, but doesn’t bite hard. Dare I say this is the best version, owing to its wide range of bright, earthy, sweet, tart, and savory flavors. Delicious.
