Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a quarter finger white head that dissipates quickly to patches with light lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt, citrus hops, grapefruit, lemon and faint mixed tropical and stone fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus hops, grapefruit and tangelo, faint wisps of stone fruit. Bitterness builds into a citrus rind, somewhat astringent finish. Medium bodied with spritzy, sharp carbonation. An unusual triple IPA, somewhat dry and emphasizing hop bitterness and citrus rind. A touch of pine at first, then mostly citrus into a grapefruit rind finish. There were interesting waves of faint tropical and stone fruit, but these were subsumed into the citrus. This one grew on me a bit as I drank it, but seems a little unbalanced for the size. At least its description as "small bitterness" was inaccurate, it had a satisfying, solid alpha oil bitterness that I respected and enjoyed.
