473 mL can from the LCBO; there's a date stamp on the base, but it's warped and I can only make out "2023". Served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy pale golden-yellow, producing one finger of soapy white foam that fades within a minute or two. A thin collar of suds surrounding a filmy cap are the leftovers, with rings of lace produced as the level drops. Fruity aroma that gives off hints of peaches, yellow plums and lemon candy; there are also suggestions of floral hops and indeterminate tropical fruit.

It's a pretty nice pale ale, fruity and not particularly bitter; its bready, wheat-heavy backbone is overshadowed by flavours of stone fruit, particularly peach and apricot. I'm also getting hints of passion fruit and citrus, leading into a floral, fruity, weakly bitter finish that transitions to a fairly dry aftertaste. Medium-light body, with light carbonation and an exceptionally soft, smooth mouthfeel that I really enjoyed. Real easy to toss back, too.

Final Grade: 3.93, a B+. Chronicle's Chimera is a quality New England pale ale that is well worth trying if you can find it. I enjoyed its wheaty, stone fruit-y flavour profile - there's nothing especially novel about this pale ale, but it's tasty and that's enough to keep me happy. We don't get many Chronicle beers around here, but this is one that I hope to see (and drink) again. Cheers!

CHIMERA NEPA - Can- pours a hazed gold with a puffy 3 finger cap.....Aroma is floral fruity, juicy hop tone with a sweet malt undertone...light and dry with a hoppy character....flavor has hops in front, very fresh and chewy alphas, malts in support roll....sharp clean dry and bitter finish....a decent addition to the NEPA genre
