Tall can from the source, dated 6/3/22, so yeah pretty fresh.

Pours the expected hue of reddish amber under a slight cap and just some specs of stickage.

Sweet and slightly tart sniff.

Tasty brew with pleasing Belgian yeast and tart/sweet cherry notes.

Bought two cans from Beer Drop, my first from them of a new brewery in a neighboring state. (I make beer runs to Kenosha a few times a year, but never found Working Draft.)

Year Round Tan's name made me think I could drink this year-round. (But I'm sure it is best in the summer.) So I at least waited for a sunny post-Thanksgiving lunch and Year Round served its purpose of cleansing the palate and washing down feast food that otherwise might be wasted.

Year Round has a simple yeast, but still makes a suitable beverage. It Looks a pretty rose' in my tulip, but a better yeast would make enough foam. Its lazy yeast leads to aromatics that are barely above average; saved by a fruity cherry additive. Despite that off-ness, Tastes are balanced; just enough hops to counter the sweet. Light-mouthed, it's got enough bubbles.

I somehow missed Working Draft when I scoured Madison's gourmet strip on Williamson on Labor Day weekend this year. (There were enough other distractions.) Almost five years old, Working Draft has a good website and is thoughtful; and perhaps slightly better than the typical American micro's business plan of appealing to the hoppy palate. But I'm glad I found Working Draft and look forward to seeing some more elevated Belgians from them... styles in which a great yeast is essential to shine. I'm thinking Working Draft is smart enough to do more Belgians. So I would like to check in, say, three to five years. A Votre Sante' !

Dry hopped Belgian style golden ale with cherries.
Light gold/yellow, with cherry juice poured in, which looks like rhubarb juice. Tart, slightly fruity (cherry) aroma. Light bodied, tart, nearly sour with slightly fruity flavors.
