From the can it pours a clear golden straw color with visible carbonation. A thumb nail length foam head dissipates quickly.
Fruity nose include pear, apple and bright notes of orange and lime. Aromas of cracker malt and honey and caramel malt sweetness interact with spicy notes of peppercorn.
Opens sweet and mouth coating with notes of honey, caramel, biscuit and graham cracker. Medium bodied and with a mouthfeel that is not as crisp as other Saisons. Likewise, the carbonation is a bit below lively while the palate is not as dry as what I would like in the style. A touch of earthy bitterness and peppery spices somewhat balanced the malt sweetness. Flavors of peppercorn, orchard and citrus fruit. The finish is dry but not so crisp.
A little disappointed by this one. It was a bit on the sweet side without that spicy balance and dryness I like in saisons.
