I'll admit I got this because I thought it was a Frank Zappa reference. Apparently one of the hops is named Zappa, (so it's likely named after aforementioned musical genius). The other two hop types are mosaic and centennial, so I expect berry and stone fruit notes. This beer pours a brassy golden with a retaining head. Definitely a herbal aroma off the bat. Then berry, and apricot. Malts give off a honey aroma. Wow, i'm noticing I can detect some of the alcohol at even 7% which I usually can't do with a beer with great balance, so that's a little off, but nothing to make this undrinkable. When it comes to the taste their is a piney bitterness (a decent amount), a tinge of citrus, and a boozy finish. I like the flavor but like I said the balance is a little off and this beer needs a heftier malt profile to be truly outstanding. Overall, a good beer but probably not a go to.
