Red bricked walled building with a very high arched wood beam ceiling and a concrete floor. Smaller taproom with a larger space behind the bar for a clear view of brewing equipment. Street parking, with a sidewalk patio out front. Seating at stools at the bar, arched booths, a long community table, and rectangular high tables. Steps lead to a second level of seating. Fourteen taps with an emphasis on IPAs. Coolers have cans to go. Friendly and helpful staff. Louder sound system blends with the customer noise. Wonderful brewing smell. Beer oasis nearer downtown.

First off, this has been my favorite current brewery here in norcal for the last year or 2 due to the availability of fresh product. Visited this past weekend while in Berkeley for a show at the Greek Theatre. Very cool repurposed red brick industrialish building. Chill vibe on a Saturday afternoon. Drank Simcoe Sabotage in a logoed teku glass while sitting upstairs enjoying the breeze though open windows. Made for a delightful experience. Looking forward to another visit next time I'm in the vicinity. Highly recommended.

Stumbling through the urban chaos, dodging the usual freaks and peculiarities of the neighborhood, you might just find yourself in a beer-soaked sanctuary that feels like divine intervention. This warehouse, a gritty temple of hops, offers an array of seating that’ll make you forget the madness outside—a long bar for the lonely, communal tables for the sociable, and booths that could’ve been ripped straight from some greasy spoon diner where deals were made and lives were lost.

The beer? A kaleidoscope of brews, from punchy IPAs to dark, brooding Porters, and crisp lagers that dance on your tongue like a goddamn ballet. Every pint is a revelation, served in a glass so clean you could use it as a mirror to witness the depravity in your own eyes, all dished out with a knowing grin by bartenders who’ve clearly seen some shit.

Oakland, my friend, is rising like a hopped-up phoenix from the ashes, fast becoming the craft beer capital of the Bay Area. Consider this your sacred pilgrimage—don’t miss it, or you might never forgive yourself.

Great taproom for this iconic Bay Area brewery near Jack London Square. Always tasty beers to try. Super knowledgeable staff. At night they have food popups.

Quality of beers tried was decent. But nothing really makes this place stand out from the plethora of places in the East Bay. Staff was pleasant enough. And sorry to say, but their fixed flight menu was lacking.
