my first ever beer from these guys and i adored it, such a unique hop profile with the lemondrop and taiheke hops, not sure i have seen these in combination before, and overall this is just excellent beer, has me excited to source more from them! i like the oats and wheat in the grain base, and unlike in a lot of these types of beers, the malt does have some flavor here, just a touch of bready sweetness to support all the hops, still fluffy and earthy and a little bit raw, but somewhat more complex here. the hops are wicked, huge orange and grapefruit and juniper from the simcoe, sweet lemon and soft herbal character from the lemondrop, which must mean the taiheke is responsible for a pineapple flesh, coconut meat, and hash oil essences that come on late, the azacca has some late melon as well. super complex as these go, but also unforced and really cohesive, with enough grain for it to seem balanced, low bitterness but not none, and no green over hopped traits at all, a rarity at this pungency. really good, one of the beer surprises of a very beery week. i thought this was incredible, and will look for some more taiheke hops out there in the world. noticeably unique.

From a 16oz can with a date that looks like 5/30/19. Pours a very hazy straw-amber color. Nice tropical notes on the nose with plenty of dank hoppy-ness on the palate. Some heat from the high alcohol, though.

I was disappointed with this one. I tried a New Trail Broken Heels which is also a Hazy IPA and I loved it. I was hoping this would be as good but definitely not.

Can dated 5/30/19 into pint glass. Pours a very hazy burnt amber with a coarse, persistent head. Initial impression is soft grapefruit, caramel, mango, and apricot, with hints of lemon, pine, and a touch of spiciness. Mouthfeel is NEIPA soft; carbonation is perfect. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Finish is more juice, with a lingering sweetness. Thus is a dangerously drinkable NEIPA - excellent!
