16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 3/20/24, so close to 2 months old
Great looking beer. Hazy orange juice body, strong white head, fat rings of lacing. Aroma is pleasantly and lightly fruity. On tasting, well, what a great beer. Smooth, fruity, slightly boozy, hoppy, some orange notes, even a faint dankness. Mouth is nicely full, finish a warm fruitiness with a light bitter touch
Overall, one of the best NT beers I've had. Happy to have the rest of the 4 pack in reserve.

Love the New Trail hazy IPAs with oats, brings out a complex, rich, citrus, pieny taste, plus add the bread taste, love it !

Nice haze and creamy mouthfeel. Thick lacing. Slightly sweet upfront fading quickly to resiny pine and dank earthiness. Smooth, high ABV well masked. What I find interesting is that NT brews so many very good IPAs under so many different names, but I'm not sure why- as their overall taste profile is very similar... (and good!)...so why confuse us with so many brews that rarely seem to be available (or findable) the next season when the recipes and profiles are similar? Would like to find more consistency from NTB from year to year

Canned on: ????
A - Medium to dark opaque orange gold color with very dense, creamy, frothy off white foam. The foam sticks to the sides of the glass like glue.
S - Aroma is on the lighter side with some citrus, peach, and apricot (barely).
T - Peach, apricot, very faint citrus, passion fruit, some light spiciness and ends with a lingering sweet fruitiness and sticky pine that's nicely balanced.
M - Big medium body that's a little thin around the edges and has a silky texture.
O - Not much personality to this one.

16oz can courtesy of JayO'Rear. No freshness date. That drives me nuts with IPAs. Most of my favorite local brewers don't do it either and it bugs me. Especially when they bring their undated cans on my lawn. Anyway, this isn't being reviewed on Curmudgeon Advocate, so, onwards & upwards.
Poured into a tallboy can glass, this was a milky orange-yellow color and was a bit pulpy looking. I know it's a hazy, but man, it's not a looker at all.
Things improve greatly with the nose, which is all bright, tropical & citrus fruit scents.
I known this isn't a milkshake IPA, but, damn, it sure hints at being one. Lots of oats and wheat went into this, I'm sure. It drinks like a mixed fruit smoothie, with just a bit of pithy, grapefruity bitterness on the back end. No sign of the 9% abv in the taste.
Typical mouthfeel for such a beer. Medium bodied and creamy, with just a little bit of a resiny, oily feel on the tongue.
Although my old school, WCIPA-shaped sense of IPA aesthetics didn't much dig this beer's appearance, I very much enjoyed drinking it. I'd never heard of New Trail before this current NBS BIF and the massive barrage of beers it's caused Jay to shell my porch with, but they are definitely on my radar now.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed out medium golden pour with big foamy white head. Outstanding lacing.
S: Dank and fruity. Loads of citrus and tropicals.
T.F: Sweet fruit... pineapple, mango, and tangerine with grapefruit rind and papaya. Loads of tropical juice and citrus. A little spice on the back end. Medium bodied and sticky. Creamy feel... minimal bitterness. More juice medley to finish. Hides its dangerous ABV.
O: An outstanding Hazy Double from New Trail. One of their best yet.
