Hatchet is a Hazy IPA brewed with a slew of wheats. Pointedly hopped with Waiti and Citra. Sharp notes of orange and apricot backed by stone fruits. We’ll enjoy this one as we get ready for the colder months.

NTs are just to good and found this one to be lower tier in their volumous NEIPA line up. A solid B- rating outside of NT, but this one struggles to rank against NTs own offers.

A finger's and a half worth of crisp bone white froth... Decent retention... Color is an exceedingly pale hazy ginger... Nose is fairly subtle but a dank hoppiness permeates... Flavor profile matches the nose in identical fashion... Dank and earthy but not overpowering... Some faint floral notes... Medium bodied, smooth and lightly carbonated... Decent enjoyable brew....

Light amber with a light head. Good aromatics...citrusy and bright. A little imbalanced to me on the taste. The sweet and malty flavor comes through more than the citrusy happiness than I expect for a NE IPA, especially from NT Brewing of whom I have had many a quality beer. Feel is average. Overall a good but not great NT offering.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a hazy dark straw (or light gold?) color with a decent off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is spicy citrus, including mango, pineapple, and lemon, plus some pine resin. Mouthfeel is somewhat prickly and not NEIPA-style soft. Finish is muted citrus morphing to a very slight bitterness. Good flavor and easy to drink, but not my New Trail fav.

I was recently staring into the abysss, I mean, watching a little TV, when I happened to realize that I had a subsCANtial amount of New Trail CANs in abeyance & decided to revisit them for yet CANother brewery horizontal. This shall be the ninth of this newest set. It's a CANQuest (tm) thing, if you don't understand.
From the CAN: "Hatchet Hazy India Pale Ale"; "Keep Cold[,] Drink Fresh".
I Crack!ed open the vent and, having given up all hope of clarity with these beers, I beCAN a steady, heavy-handed C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose had a sharp citrusiness including orange/CANgerine & grapefruit, suggesting that Citra hops had been employed. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium & not all that soft, either, negating whatever adjuncts were creating the haze. I would be interested to try filtered versions of some of these. The taste was quite citrusy, leaning more towards grapefruit than orange/CANgerine, but still a very pleasant drink, almost akin to breakfast juice for me. I am not trying to suggest that I am drinking beer for breakfast (although I might be), but instead, that this beer reminds me of the juice(s) that I usually have with/for breakfast. It had a pronounced citrusy tanginess throughout & I was happy with it as a result. Finish was semi-dry & quite refreshing. YMMV.

A - Very hazy medium light orange color with a dense white creamy lacing ring fixed on top.

T - Juicy tropical fruit with light spicy fruit rind, pineapple and passion fruit. Finishes balanced but a little more towards the sweeter side.
M - Big medium body with some dryness on the tongue.
O - Alot of flavor packed into 5.9%. Recommended.
