Brewed in collaboration with Foreign Objects Beer Company and Discord Beer Company.
Heliocentrism was the guiding force in our collaborative effort to ever better the bright flavors of this beer. Brewed with our avant-garde compatriots at Foreign Objects & Discord. Heliocentric, a Tart Ale brewed with luscious wheats, pugnacisouly conditioned on a profusion of raspberries. Expect a light tartness richly complimented by a delicate berry backbone.

I had SUCH a great day this past Sunday on/for New New Trail & Feeling Light-Hearted About Happoshu Beer Sunday (Week 784) that I have decided to just CANtinue where I left off, as opposed to waiting until this CANming Sunday. I am really digging New Trail's beers from Bill Town, aka Williamsport, PA. These guys seem to be onto something!
From the CAN: "Tart Ale Brewed with Raspberries"; "Keep Cold[,] Drink Fresh"; "A New Trail Brewing Co.[,] Foreign Objects & Discord Collaboration".
I Crack!ed open the vent on this, my last New Trail CAN, with a heavy heart. I have been with these guys for a week & it has been a most pleasant journey that I did not want to come to an end. I CANtinued our fond farewell with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It responded by forming just over a finger of CANparatively dense, pinkish head with decent retention, all resembling freshly-spun cotton CANdy. Color was a hazy Magenta (SRM = N/A). Nose smelled like my paternal grandmother's backyard in the Summer!
She had strawberry, red raspberry & rose bushes out there & while it was a bee magnet, it was also the source of fresh fruit that often got turned into scrumptious desserts. It was through her that I first learned how to both bake & CAN, with the remaining raspberries becoming preserves.
Between the look & the smell, there was NO question but that raspberries had gone into this beer. Yum. Mouthfeel was thin, kinda watery, as is the general bugaboo with this style. The taste was full-on raspberry with only a light tartness, making it all the more enjoyable. It allowed me to CANcentrate & CANtemplate the wonderful raspberry flavor without getting sidetracked by acidic tartness. I realize that not all fruited Wild Ales are created equal, but this showcased the fruit beautifully, which is something that I wish could happen more often. Finish was semi-dry, CANother testament to their not having gone overboard with whichever yeast strain(s) they used for its fermentation. I am now curious to try some more of both their tart beers and any other beers that come available. YMMV.

Another riff on New Trail’s tart ale series in collaboration with Discord and Foreign Objects. From an undated 16oz can. Pours a slightly hazy, beautiful rose-raspberry color with little head. Lovely tart raspberries on the nose and palate. Very tasty!
