Brewed in collaboration with Foreign Objects Beer Company and Discord Beer Company.
Heliocentrism was the guiding force in our collaborative effort to ever better the bright flavors of this beer. Brewed with our avant-garde compatriots at fobeerco & discordbeer. Heliocentric, a Tart Ale brewed with luscious wheats, pugnacisously conditioned on a profusion of Pineapple & Mango Flesh. Expect a light tartness richly complemented by a deep tropical backbone.

I had SUCH a great day this past Sunday on/for New New Trail & Feeling Light-Hearted About Happoshu Beer Sunday (Week 784) that I have decided to just CANtinue where I left off, as opposed to waiting until this CANming Sunday. I am really digging New Trail's beers from Bill Town, aka Williamsport, PA. These guys seem to be onto something!
From the CAN: "Tart Ale Brewed with Pineapple & Mango"; "Keep Cold[,] Drink Fresh"; "A New Trail Brewing Co.[,] Foreign Objects & Discord Collaboration".
I am CANming to the close of my dalliances with New Trail, having saved the tarts for last so that I could take an antacid pill before delving in. I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. The fizzy, rolling, roiling finger of bone-white head evaporated into wisps as a watched, stunned. Bye! Color was a slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose left no question that pineapple & mango were involved, plus I got a light puckering of my lips to let me know that their use of the word "Tart" was spot-on. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not far beyond it, either. The taste was a tart pineapple/mango CANbination, much akin to a water ice in the Summer or a sorbet any time. Mmm. It was highly refreshing & a nice segue from the earlier, sweeter beers & back to AIPAs a little later today. Finish was tart, natch, and somewhere between semi-dry & dry. It was a very enjoyable interlude. YMMV.

Poured into narrow full pint glass: color is murky gold, off white head with fine bubbles that present 1/2 inch thick and quickly dissipate to nothing except a small thin ring.
Aroma is the highlight of the brew, even when cold: notes of lactic acid play well with the remnants of the pineapple and mango, which are just barely there; aromas hint at the kettle souring technic to provide the sourness with light funkiness but cleaner malt aroma backing.
Taste is pleasant with light pineapple and mango, then lactic sourness and light malt bread and cracker. Flavor allows more nuance of the souring to shine than the original Heliocentric.
Mouthfeel is crisp, sour, not puckering but acidic presence lingers.
Overall a nice rendition of the Heliocentric concept with just enough pineapple and mango flavor.
