White Out is a Hazy Double IPA brewed with Oats and Rye Malts. Blurrily hopped with Simcoe, Citra, & HBC 692. HBC 692 is an experimental hop we’re pumped to try out in this beer and is supposed to push large Stone Fruits and light Tropical characteristics. Be safe out there…

Most noteworthy of this NEDIPA is the recipe change to Citra, Simcoe, and Talus hops. Surprisingly, Talus really holds its own against the other two powerhouses delivering strong grassy and herbal flavors amongst the other notes typical of Citra and Simcoe. Dank resin is present along with a tart bitterness in the finish. New Trail DIPAs always shine on 8.5% ABV which this one is. When they get to 9 and above, they aren't as well done IMO. Overall, very nice although I'd personally ditch Talus and try another hop blend

AROMA: Aromatic, citrus hops with some grapefruit, orange and tropical papaya and dank pine.
TASTE: Dank citrus, juicy and sour up front, a little tart with a drying finish.
Very good NEIPA.

16oz can into a pint. NO freshness dating.
Thick orange/pear juice colored body. Small white head doesn't last long, but leaves some lacing early on.
Decent mixed fruit aroma with a side of dank
On tasting, thick, fruity, warming, a little bitter, and some hop burn
Mouth full, finish warming and a little bitter.
Overall, doesn't quite fit the style other than look and aroma. Still, appropriate beer to have during last nights Penn State white out game.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, quite hazy/opaque, head is off white and presents 1/2 inch thick, head dissipates to thin top with some lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is lightly mixed tropicals, pineapple heavy, hint of pine and citric acid; malt is light sweet and notes of oat and wheat.
Taste is more mixed tropicals, pineapple. some berry, light pine and citrus pith; malt is pretty neutral, lightly sweet, notes of wheat and oat; abv is hidden.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate full sweetness, low bitterness.
Overall a near standard DHIPA from NT - could go for a brighter aroma, more pungent taste or biting feel.

Man this is one super sweet NEIPA. It’s quite tasty but the sweet and creaminess almost leans to it not being as sessionable as other NEIPAs. Good beer.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours amurky gold with a persistent eggshell-white head. Good lacing. Initial impression is pink grapefruit, pine, and a bit of caramel. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat soft, but edgier than most New Trail NEIPAs. Finish is semi-sweet citrus, fading to an interesting dankness. Overall, this is a departure from New Trail's norm. They make excellent beer, and this is another excellent New Trail beer.
Their consistency in brewing spectacularly good NEIPAS - and the fact that hardly any of them are dated nor have their ABV listed - made me wonder vaguely if they just brew the same stuff all the time and change up the labels. Nah - White Out dispels that notion. It's really good - try it if you get a chance!
