A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is bursting with tropical fruits. Taste is grapefruit, oranges, mango, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

A finger's worth of lush light khaki colored froth with some big chunky bubbles mixed in... Color is a hazed peachy gold... Big satisfying nose of rich tropical fruits... Flavor profile if equally hoppy but much more earthy with some metallic notes on the finish... Medium bodied and smooth with light carbonation... Really aaly good and really satisfying... Would (and will) enjoy several of these in a session...

Pours a pale hazy orange with a white head.
Citrus, floral, orange and some slight sweet malt.
Taste follows nose more bitter than sweet but very good.

I had SUCH a great day this past Sunday yesterday on/for New New Trail & Feeling Light-Hearted About Happoshu Beer Sunday (Week 784) that I have decided to just CANtinue where I left off, as opposed to waiting until this CANming Sunday. I am really digging New Trail's beers from Bill Town, aka Williamsport, PA. These guys seem to be onto something!
From the CAN: "Hazy IPA (India Pale Ale)"; "Keep Cold[,] Drink Fresh".
I beCAN by Crack!ing open the vent on this one & CANmencing a slow, gentle C-Line Glug in the ongoing hope that I might create even a modicum of clarity. I was rewarded with just over a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with decent retention for my efforts. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5), like freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice in my glass. Nose was tropical fruit meets citrus fruit - sweet mango/papaya/guava offset by grapefruit & orange/tangerine with a hint of mintiness. 8=O Mouthfeel was medium, but very slick on the tongue. The taste was MUCH more bitter than the nose had led me to expect. Here, the grapefruit really beCAN to dominate, bringing a bitterness more evocative of pith & rind than juice, now offset by the tropical fruit flavors, rather than vice versa. Phew. This brought tears to my eyes & while I am sure that it would not be for everyone, it was the kind of jolt that I had been craving. Finish was very bitter and quite dry as a result. I was happy enough with it, but this one is NOT for everyone. YMMV.
