Im no Expert. Being a Halloween freak, bought purely for the Can design, This Gem is the first Milkshake IPA I have ever tried. Never even knew it was a thing. I was amazed at the taste. Everything hit right with me. It is PURELY the reason I Am infatuated with the category now. I have tried quite a few now and my opinion has'nt changed. Dunno if its the Holy Grail, but Im constantly searching for a class Equal. Hate that its Seasonal. I cleaned out every Brewery, and take out in town. If I'd have known it was seasonal, Id have bought it by the case(s).

Interesting kind of reminds me of Pumking but more of an IPA bitterness. All the spices are there with rounding vanilla to balance it out and the hops are more sweet not herbal which makes it also enjoyable. Very good experimental I would probably pick up again.

Cascading pour... A finger's worth of bone white froth... Color is an exceedingly pale straw with a suspended haziness...
Nose of subtle pumpkin and vanilla with a hint of cinnamon... Palate is reminiscent of pumpkin ice cream... On the lighter side of medium bodied and highly quaffable... Stellar interpretation of the fall seasonal... Rock star job by New Trail...

One of the best NT beers I've had, very well constructed. Citra presence and pumpkin are melded seamlessly with a gentle sweetness provided by lactose and vanilla. I imagine great care had to go into getting this beer right, and NT did just that.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hsazed medium golden pour with 2 fingers of foamy white head. Great retention and outstanding lacing.
S: Pumpkin pie, spice, and fruit/citrus hops.
T.F: Semi-sweet... light grains, vanilla, pumpkin/veggie, and citrus. Some pie spices like clove and nutmeg... more fruit and a bit of tropicals. The flavors work pretty well together. Medium bodied... sticky on the tongue and well carbonated. More of a milkshake IPA finish with the spice in the background.
O: A decent pumpkin pie milkshake IPA. Easy drinking... a little sweet... but overall not bad.
