Drift is a Hazy Double IPA brewed with Germanic Malts and Fluffy Oats. Mistly hopped with Sultana, Citra, & Amarillo. Expect huge notes of freshly cut pineapple, mixed citrus, and pine. Go out and rip up some trails!

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Hazed out golden peach pour with big fluffy white head. Great retention and lacing.

S: Citrus and tropical fruit. Juicy.

T.F: Semi-sweet and fruity to start. Tangerine, pineapple, and grapefruit rind. Light pine and spice... more tropical medley fruit. Medium bodied. Creamy carbonation and sticky on the tongue. Lingering citrus to finish.

O: Another very well done double NEIPA. Hard to tell these New Trail brews apart... but they're all pretty good.

Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Absolutely opaque and pulpy dark orange body.

Hoppy but balanced noise, with a nice mixture of citrus and tropical tones.

Flavor is similarly juicy and lush. Pineapple, mango, and orange juice all combined, with a sprinkle of fresh herbs. Honey, lemon, cream, and white doughy bread. Fairly sweet for an IPA, but it's an excellent match for the hop profile. Relatively low bitterness, although the back third is fairly herbal and grassy.

The use of oats complement the smooth creamy body.

16 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

L---Hazy, deep gold color with a nice, fluffy white head. Nice retention and excellent lacing.

S---Fruity & sweet, like a kid's juicebox. There's citrus & tropical notes. High ABV is present.

T---A fruit bomb, which I suppose is in line with a NEIPA. Vague citrus & tropical fruits.

F---Medium/full mouthfeel. Wet & Juicy. Well carbonated.

O---A fairly meh NEIPA. It hits what it's supposed to hit, thus the high score, but nothing special.

Can dated 12/14/20 into pint glass. Pours a murky amber (SRM 7 or 8) with a brief off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is grapefruit, pineapple, a bit of dankness, pine, and mango. Mouthfeel is medium but not particularly soft, despite the NEIPA appearance. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Finish is crisp and bitter. Overall, another excellent IPA from New Trail!

No Goggles at the store today, so let's see what's up with Drift. Discovery begins with a pint can emptied into a clear glass liter mug. Revealed is a murky strawberry-blond brew with a moderate, yet tight and durable head atop. Its aroma isn't hard to find, consisting mostly of the mainstays of hazies; some malt, some oats, some yeast and hops likely softened by starches. Some nice glass lacing follows the ebbing of the ale down the glass. The taste delivers much the same as the nose foretold. A moderately sweet malt and starch backbone carry a moderately and pleasantly bitter hoppiness. Everything, as usual with New Trail, is in near perfect balance. A little alcohol in the mix contributes to the overall taste without disturbing the mouthfeel. Then, you realize, that wasn't "a little" alcohol you've consumed, it only tasted that way. The only negative is the stickiness included with the nicely hopped finish.
