Sledding is a Hazy Double IPA brewed with a luscious amount of oats. Veeringly hopped with the almighty Mosaic. Expect lush citrus backed by rich berry and matched with earthy dankness. Have a few and slide down some hills!

Hey there, Raul here...

Yep, this one is ok in my book. Like getting a candy heart from your crush in the 4th grade on Valentine’s Day, I’m feeling it. And yeah, it kind of is like old crush; pretty good for the time being, but who the hell knows what happened to her 20 years later.m? Like, Sledding is like that - I’m feeling it now, but I’m not gonna tell my grandchildren about it, ya feel me?

See ya!

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a murky amber-gold color (SRM about 5-6) with a brief off-white head. Initial impression is grapefruit, pineapple, pine, and caramel - delicious! Mouthfeel is medium - just about right for a DIPA. Alcohol is astonishingly well hidden - I can't believe it's 9.1% (and the can is no help), but that's what BA says so it must be right.... Finish is clean and slightly sweet. Overall, one of New Trail's better offerings, and that's saying something!

The exercise never gets trying or tiring. A New Trail label not seen before appears on pint cans of a hazy Imperial IPA. One poured into a clear glass liter mug didn't look like enough, so more was added to fill the vessel. A familiar starchy and hoppy aroma now fills the air. The color of the brew is dark orange-amber and it's murky. Soft on the tongue, this one runs on the sweet side of the New Trail offerings. The body is lighter than some, suggesting there's more of a wheat and/or oats ratio in the wort. The hops aren't particularly bitter, but they're pronounced and dry enough to stand up to the sweetness. As for the visual, there's not much head, nor lacing, which is characteristic of a high ABV ale. True to their form, New Trail has disguised that taste well. OK, this isn't among their best. It is a little too sweet, light, one dimensional and biteless to rate that high. A less than the best from New Trail is better than most anything from other brewers.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass not sure when it was canned but from jzeilinger I know it is fresh. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a finger plus sticky white lace that leaves thin streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.75

Aroma papaya, mango, blueberry, hints of marijuana, apricot, and a little grapefruit rind. 4.75

Taste follows papaya, mango, blueberry, marijuana, apricot, and grapefruit really balanced and awesome. 4.75

Mouthfeel is above medium, not dry or sticky, soft gentle almost creamy carbonation, and at 9.1% it goes down far too easy. 4.75

Overall this is another special NEDIPA from this rather young brewery. Keep an eye on this place. Very impressive brew. 4.75

16 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

L---Murky, medium gold color. Frothy, white head that had good retention and very good lacing.

S---Sweet, & fruity. Tropical & citrus notes.

T---Fruity. Grapefruit, orange & mango.

F---Lighter than expected for high ABV. Good carbonation.

O---A really nice beer. I'd get another if the opportunity presented itself.

A - Opaque dark golden orange color with frothy lacing, carbonation is visually little to none.

S - Intense and oily berry and tropical fruit aroma.

T - The first few sips are intensely oily and then migrates to intensely dank. Berry, mango, oily pine, and spicy earthiness. Finishes balanced with a nod towards the sweeter side. Nice lingering mango / berry / earthy spiciness.

M - Big chewy body that's pillowy soft.

O - Highly recommended and I'm starting to sound like a broken record with my glowing reviews of New Trail's IPA's. However, when I run into one I don't like, my review will certainly reflect that - rest assured. All I can say, just really impressed with New Trail's IPA's. Period.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Bright cloudy golden pour. Big fluffy white head leaves great lacing.

S: Sweet and fruity. Tropicals and citrus.

T.F: Just like it smells. Semi-sweet up front with loads of tropical fruit. Pineapple and mango mixed with citrus and papaya. Mild pine... berry and tangerine. Modest bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel... medium bodied and hides its robust ABV. Tropical citrus finish.

O: Another fine DIPA from New Trail. It's pretty subjective, but this is my favorite of their hazy double releases thus far this winter.
