Leprechauns Drink Milkshakes Too is a Hazy IPA brewed with oats, mint, vanilla and lactose. Haphazardly hopped with the almighty Citra. Expect notes of freshly crushed mint complemented by rich citrus and sweet vanilla. Like a Shamrock exploded in your mouth.

A: A mint green foam capping rests above a emerald green pour from the can. A St. Patrick's day IPA. The haziness is hard to determine, and most likely ineffective here with a dark green colored body. There is a strong carbonation presence with some light coming through, thus again diminishing the haziness factor of the milkshake claim.

S: Lots of juicy breakfast fruit coming through of green melon and cantaloupe along with some honeydew. The peaches and pineapple juice quickly follows. There's a mixture of breakfast juice as well, orange-grapefruit that is wet and of good strength. Solid aroma, captures the neipa spirit while not exactly matching the appearance.

T: Strong alcohol and raw citrus juice mix on the opening sip. Tart orange-grapefruit bittering. The pungent raw citrus aspect practically overshadows all here with hardly any recognition of the nose. Some milky-lactose taste, souring with raw mint rather peppermint.

M: Nice milky lactose feel here, deep with a milky backbone feel and definitely one of the finer points they nailed here along with the aroma. Creamy, soft and lush feel.

O: Overall while I recognize this as a St. Patrick's day interpretation, the flavor just did not deliver for me as well as the nose did. An overpowering raw citrus and raw mint leaves where the it just didn't blend well together for me making drinkability a suffering factor. Promising nose, like earlier mention I can forgive the green gimmicky coloring, but the haziness just didn't translate in that regard. Props for going outside the box, but I wouldn't call this exactly a good example of a milkshake stout, maybe only a leprechaun would drink. Lacks the fruity tropical punch I so crave by style, the mouthful and nose did deliver as mentioned, creamy soft, and full of tropical, peach scents. Overall the flavor was one dimensional, rather raw and unpolished making drinkability again a sour note for me. While I recently enjoyed their coffee stout, this was a miss on my part. My ratings are all over the place for this one.

Poured into a goblet: color is dark green, murky, light green head, some lingering lacing.

Smell is mint, light citrus, vanilla, light sweetness, maybe some cake like aroma.

Taste is similar but more sweetness and vanilla - mint first, citrus, vanilla, cake like sweetness backing; a little oversweet and the mint is not fresh tasting.

Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate/strong sweetness, zippy mint and bitter bite, drying finish.

Overall a unique beer - my first take was not great but on the second can it seems to come together a bit more. Getting past the green color, the mint, citrus, vanilla, malt sweetness come together fairly well - still really sweet, and the mint is not fresh muddled in flavor (more flavoring).

Was actually kind of shocked to see a beer so green screams St Patrick's day! Smell and taste not much mint but a good vanilla and hop mix profile. Body is great smooth medium and smooth. Overall an interesting beer with mint that works quite well.

Slight off white head with solid retention... Color is ecto-plasm green... Nose of mint and vanilla that is actually quite pleasant... Interesting palate... The mint is dialed up a notch... Things are not as well balanced on the palate... Medium bodied and smooth... Decent beer for what could have been a train wreck...

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a brilliant murky emerald green with a light green head. Kudos for nailing the coloration, I guess. Initial impression is sweet grapefruit, vanilla, mint, and berries. Mouthfeel is sticky and NEIPA soft. Finish is quite sweet - coulda dialed that back a bit. Overall, not bad for something that elicits an "uh oh" when it leaves the can....

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Pours a cloudy swamp green. Kind of like the color when you get when you put all of the used paintbrushes in a bucket of water. Thick foamy light green head leaves great lacing. I can't decide if this is one of the coolest looking beers I've seen... or the absolute ugliest. It does scream 'St. Patrick's Day' which I assume is what they were going for.

S: Vanilla, mint, and citrus. An odd combo... doesn't smell bad though.

T.F: Straight up milkshake IPA. Citrus and fruit.. light mint, vanilla, and tropicals. The mint works surprisingly well with the milkshake concept. Sweet but not cloying... although the mint does give it a bit of an 'artificial' flavor. Still... tasty. Medium bodied... smooth carbonation. More mint and fruit to finish.

O: An odd fun beer that I liked more than I thought I would. Sweet and minty... definitely dessert.
