Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw, slight chill haze but pretty transparaent, head is off white with fine bubbles, presents 1/2 inch thick and then dissipates to nothing.
Smell is grainy and herbal with hint of cattiness.
Taste is pilsner malt, grainy and some crackers, herbal and earthy hops, biting bitterness, a bit sweeter flavor.
Mouthfeel is sweet and bitter, a bit over done on both ends, moderate carbonic bite.
Overall a sharp and sweet pilsner with an odd hop aroma at first.

Clear light straw with a thin finger of off-white head. Moderate lacing. A little mint in the relatively clean and crisp aroma. Vibrant bitterness up front in the taste gives way to dull biscuit dough, sulfur and grassy bitterness in the finish. Light bodied with a little zip to the carbonation; maybe a little chewy. Pretty well executed, although very bitter for the style.

Slight bone white froth quickly dissipates... Two tone copper color... Nose is fairly mild highlighted by pilsner malt and cereal grains... Rock solid pilsner flavor with a strong than expected hop bite on the palate... Lightly carbonated with a clean and crisp feel... Loaded with flavor and character for a 4.5% high sessionable brew...

Pours a straw color with a finger of white head. The nose is grassy and has that classic pilsner malt essence. The flavor is not terribly complex - it tastes like an unremarkable pilsner with amped up hops.

A - Hazy bright gold color with soapy white lacing and no visible carbonation.
S - Grainy, miniscule citrus, and sweet rose hips. (The most odd Pils aroma I've ever encountered.)
T - Honey grain, light citrus grapefruit grassiness with a slight bit of citrus resin.
M - Syrupy and way too thick.
O - I really like New Trail but this is a perfect example of an over bastardized American Pilsner. I really hate the mouthfeel, especially for 4.5% ... biggest turn off. The flavor is there but the thickness gets in the way of everything good about this beer.
You be the judge.
