Another quality effort from NT. Not the best hazy they offer but still solid. Not sure of "modern west coast" name, but drinks like a NEIPA to me. Getting a berry undertone which equates to the Purple Skies name.

Pours a regular WC Ipa color, aroma is citrus, banana ? Slight pine, and almost a wheaty smell, taste is really goox, hop forward, piney, and a ni e aftertaste. I have say, the last 2 NE Ipas, Green skies and purd skies are really good.

Nice to see that despite a wheat inclusion, there's no puffy stark white head. Instead, after being decanted from a pint can into a clear Imperial pint glass, there's a nice, enduring and just off-white head atop. The aroma is the now familiar hazy hops, with starches you can find everywhere, but New Trail excells at. Its color is golden amber, bright and rather translucent. This is a pleasant tasting brew with a nice; albeit, not commendable body. Most West Coast IPA lovers will be disappointed by the lack of a good piney hop bite. But, overall this has a nice West Coast style hoppiness and is in great balance for almost every IPA loving beer drinker. A little more malt sweetness for balance is all that's missing, but then it really wouldn't be a true WCIPA. This is another success from New Trail.

Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a clear deep gold with a brief off-white head. Not much lacing to speak of. Initial impression is berries, tropical fruits, some floral notes, and a hint of pine resin. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean. Finish is fruity and clean. Overall, a decent IPA but nowhere near as good as their standard hazy NEIPAs.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold, transparent, head is off white, head presents

L: pours a nice clear golden/copper with about 1 finger of fluffy white heads. Leaves behind nice lacing
S: berries and fruit with a touch of pine.
T: getting a lot of fruit and berries up front with a nice pine finish. Buttery malt to round it out at the end.
F: crisp and clean, medium carbonation
O: definitely more of a fruit/citrus forward west coast but nicely done
