Heliocentric: Cherry Limeade is a Tart Ale brewed with heavy doses of wheats. Brightly conditioned on a profusion of sweet cherries and Key Lime. Expect a light tartness richly complemented by a deep berry & citrus backbone.

Heliocentric – Cherry Limeade from New Trails brewing. Picked up at Franklin Beer, Franklin, Pa. $ 6.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.375oz) on 07/10/21. In reefer at store, stored at 37 degrees at home. Reviewed 17/06/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 41.9 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King Snifter. Final temperature 52.7 degrees.
Appearance – 3.5
First pour – Pink, hazy.
Body – Red gold, opaque. When rear-lite, translucent.
Head – Large (Maximum 4.2 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high-density, short retention, diminishing to a 0.3 cm crown fed by effervescence and a rocky cap.
Lacing – Good. Wide band of extremely tiny bubbles.
Aroma – 3.5 – Weak cherry, citrusy and refreshing. No malt, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Follows the nose – refreshing and tropical citrusy, with lime. No ethanol (5.5 % ABV as marked on label) aroma or taste. No gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends well-balanced bitter.
Palate – 4 – Thin, watery, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) Actually quite good, despite the barely noticeable cherry aroma/flavor – lime carries the day! This one is truly greater than the sum (or average) of its parts.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Cloudy golden burgundy pour with 2 fingers of fizzy white head. Falls fast... decent lacing. Some sediment at the end of the pour.
S: Tart banking cherry and lime mixed with wheat.
T.F: Modestly tart... strong cherry and milder lime/citrus. The wheat/grains come through with some fruit sweetness as well. More cherry/lime at the finish. Maybe a bit of salt. Medium to light bodied.
O: A reasonable little tart fruited brew. Nothing all that special, but easy drinking... good summer/outdoorsy fare.
