A Yellow Blazer is a hiker who skips trail sections by hitchhiking ahead. Named for the yellow dashes on the road. In that spirit, we brewed this Collaboration with our friends at Hitchhiker Brewing Company. Yellow Blazer is a Hazy DIPA brewed with oats, white wheat and pilsner malt. We then heavily hopped Yellow Blazer with Citra & Nelson Sauvin to create notes of bright citrus, fleshy white grape and dank pine.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Hazed out/opaque medium golden pour with thick fluffy white head. Outstanding lacing.

S: Citrus, fruit, and sweets. Grape and tropicals.

T.F: Just like it smells. Semi-sweet to start... grapefruit/citrus and pineapple. Mango, grape must, and tropical fruit. Peach, earth, and pepper/spice. Medium bodied... smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Well carbonated. More grape and fruit to finish.

O: Another very well executed Imperial NEIPA from New Trail. Easy drinking and dangerous ABV.

For those that want a barley malt backbone in their IPAs, this could be problematic. It is from New Trail and they rarely misfire on their hazy doubles. The color, once a pint can has been emptied into a clear Imperial pint glass, is a cloudy apricot-amber. The just slightly off-white head is encouraging, for it isn't that puffy stark white mess associated with beers that have too much wheat in the wort. This is a nice modest and enduring head. There's a really good hoppy aspect to the aroma, which is a bit piney and a bit earthy. Expectations run high before the first taste. First off, it's pretty smooth for an 8.8% Hazy Double IPA. Thankfully, oats are more contributing that the wheat to the overall here. A little barley malt would certainly improve this, but it's not bad. The taste is citrusy hoppy enough, there's a noticeable Pilsner malt contribution and the finish is clean and dry. It's lovely to see some nice glass lacing and some sediment at the bottom of the glass. There may not be a big difference between the dozens of hazy doubles from this brewery, but they consistently excell. The story behind the label is interesting and every IPA drinker should try something in that category from this incredible brewery.

Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a murky medium gold with a brief off-white head. Good lacing. Initial impression is fairly sweet grapes, with citrus (pineapple, grapefruit) a distant second. Mouthfeel is thick and pillow-y. Finish is more grape, fading to a peppery spiciness. I'm usually a little leery of collabs, but these guys (New Trail and Hitchhiker) seem to work well together. Overall, a very enjoyable NEIPA.

Canned on date: ???

A - Opaque dark medium golden tan color with dense frothy white lacing that sticks to the sides of the glass.

S - Citrus, dank tropical fruit, white grapeskin, and peach. Overall aroma is very fruity.

T - White grapeskin is prevalent from start to finish and adds an earthy, spicy presence from start to finish. Some tropical fruit, peach, and passion fruit are also present and finisnhes on the sweeter side with some lingering earthy spice.

M - Big chewy mouthfeel that's pillowy soft. The roof of the mouth is dry while the rest of the palate is wet.

O - It's a rock solid D-IPA and reviewing for what it is. However, not a fan of Nelson Sauvin hops => not into the grape presence.
