Hazy gold with thick head and nice lacing. Taste is of cinnamon-cereal, with a touch of sweet then, a mild sour. The milkshake-lactose creaminess is there, it has a nice density with a "medium-rare" carbonation. Despite being smooth and pleasant, not much hop or beer notes.

Poured so that the contents of a pint can ended up in a clear Imperial pint glass. It doesn't necessarily look like a milkshake beer. Yes, it's cloudy, but not in the dull manner of most. The color is orange-amber, relatively bright, yet opaque. There wasn't much of a head produced, but the resident bubbly film on top is just of white. Cinnamon and vanilla catches the nose, much like a cinnamon pastry with vanilla glazing. Like that, or not, that is what it tastes like. In this case, a cinnamon pastry with a heavy handed dose of the spice. Certainly, it's the hops and the alcohol that contribute, but this has enough cinnamon taste to stand up to them and deliver a solid dose. It even brings just a little heat, like you get when sucking on a real cinnamon stick. The vanilla and lactose make a great sweet counterbalance, like that white drizzle you'd get on a bun. The lactose inclusion is not so much as to make the mouthfeel sticky, nor chalky. It probably adds to the overall in a way it almost never does in an IPA that isn't heavily flavored. Dessert beers, especially if they're IPAs, aren't for everyone. Even if you like them, it's usually one and done. That may be the case here, but that doesn’t preclude it from being a wonderful dessert beer. It captures everything it prescribes.
