Blueberry & Lemon Belgian Tripel is a traditional Belgian-style Tripel brewed with German malts and Belgian candi sugar complimented by a light hop bill. Rich Belgian candi sugar makes this beer highly complex in flavor. We then conditioned it on bright Lemon and Blueberries, for a juicy fruit character.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Dark pink-tinged golden pour with 2 fingers of pinkish head. Nice ring of lacing.

S: Tart lemon and blueberry... not picking up a lot of tripel.

T.F: Sweet/tart... lemon and blueberry for sure. Lighter spice/yeast and grains. Simple.. lemonade and beer. Shandy-ish. Medium bodied... some booze. Well carbonated.

O: An okay-ish lemonade/shandy/tripel mashup. Not a ton of Belgian character.... more of a strong radler. I enjoyed it well enough but wouldn't want more than 1 at a go.

Slightly bright bone white colored froth, less then a finger's worth... Modest at best retention... Color is a pale murky ruby red.... Big nose... Lemon... Lavender Belgian Yeast... You don't even need to bring your nose near the glass to experience the aroma... All the flavors are present on the palate, but they are certainly more muddled... Also a slightly off-putting medical cough syrup taste... Medium bodied... A slightly burny finish... I appreciate the sentiment and was excited to try this, but the end result leaves a little something to be desired...

Poured into narrow pint glass: color is light purple or dark copper depending on the light, head is pink, head presents 1 finger thick, then dissipates quickly to a thin top with some lacing on the glass sides.

Smell is primarily lemon, mixed with malt, and small blueberry tartness.

Taste is similar lemon forward, maybe some blueberry tartness, very limited belgian character overtaking the sour lemon & blueberry.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, very different finish with biting, sour, dryness.

Overall a brew that contains the namesake ingredients but has little tripel character.
