H.R.S.P. is a Hazy Double IPA boasting juicy mango and bright citrus characteristics from Cashmere and Azacca hops, balanced by the florals of Cascade.
Boulder Field, pictured on the can, is a Nationally recognized Natural Landmark. This 1,800 foot field was formed over 20,000 years ago when the glaciers receded and left behind these boulders. Natural areas around our great state will only stay wondrous if we keep them natural - no graffiti, no littering, no alteration. A portion of proceeds from this beer will go directly to Hickory Run State Park for various restoration projects including removal of invasive species, replanting native trees, and restoring trafficked areas.

Poured from a pounder can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed medium golden pour with big fluffy white head. Great lacing.
S: Citrus and fruit. NEIPA juice.
T.F: Just like it smells. Some sweetness up front. Honey and fruit. Peach, mango, tangerine, and citrus. A bit of spice and floral notes mixed in. More mango... medium bodied and smooth/sticky mouthfeel. ABV hidden. Lots of fruit to finish.
O: Another well executed big hazy NEIPA from New Trail. Bonus points that this supports a fantastic State Park. Hickory Run and the boulder field are well worth a visit if you find yourself nearby.

It's a nice pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. A dank straw-amber colored beer it has a slightly off-white head that's tight, restrained (less than half an inch) and enduring. New Trail makes many hazies, but this is opaque as they get. The aroma is fruity, but not in a citrusy, nor piney way. It's not poignant and it hints at a soft and earthy note. That's much like the taste, but there's far more character there. Like many in its style, the beginning is sweet, but only in an earthy malt way. In other words, it's not too sweet. There's a softening agent at work that's likely oats. The body is full, smooth and has similarities to what oats in the wort can do for an ale. Just after the malt hit, the hops join in. They bring less fruitiness than the nose predicted and come across with a piney, but not resinous, way. There's plenty of hops to turn the finish dry and bitter. Overall, this is another winner in the hazy double IPA category for New Trail. The glass lacing is light, but so to is the taste of an 8.8% ABV. This has a great separation, yet balance between a solid malt and likely oat body and an excellently hopped IIPA. If there's to be any criticism, the oats (presumably) make the first part of the finish a little chalky. Still, this is a great recipe that would be nice to see return.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is hazy straw, not too thick, head is brighter white with fine bubbles, head presents 2+ fingers thick on first pour and then dissipates to a solid top with spotty lacing.
Smell is light on first pour with notes of citrus, peach, candied fruit, light malt sweetness, maybe some honey.
Taste is citrus juice (more orange than grapefruit), peach, candied fruit, mango, light pine; malt/grain is lightly sweet and some notes of toast and oats; slight boozy fruitiness. Much less pineapple than 80% of NT which is a + in my book.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness, some drying from booziness creeps in on the tongue. Not as thick and more bitterness than most of NT hazy offerings another +.
Overall one of the better NT HIPAs/DHIPAs with a more limited pineapple character, less oat/wheat/thickness, and more pronounced bitterness.

Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a hazy gold with a modest off-white head. Initial impression is tangerine, lime, peach, and juicy mango. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth. Finish is somewhat sweet, but clean and refreshing. Overall, another enjoyable NEIPA from New Trail.
