We don't have Moose in PA, so we're following the Elk Tracks! Elk Tracks is an ice cream inspired milk stout, brewed with Lactose, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Madagascar Vanilla. Layers of dark roasted malts and oats create a chocolatey, roasty and pillowy body. Vanilla cream, peanut butter cups, and fudgy chocolate bring you back to your favorite ice cream.

Poured into a goblet: color is black, head is tan with fine bubbles, head presents a scant 1/4 inch and dissipates to nothing but very thin ring along glass.

Smell is sweet chocolate, light roast, notes of vanilla, light peanut butter, maybe light lactose.

Taste is semi-sweet chocolate, hint of roast, more vanilla, very light peanut butter, some lactose, neutral/earthy hops.

Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness.

Overall a good sweet stout with subtle added flavors (chocolate, vanilla, light peanut butter) that are not over done and distracting from the base beer.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 10/17/24, so closing in on 3 months old.

Mixed look here. Mesmerizing used motor oil pour. Initially foaming growing tan head, but this quickly fades away, no lacing. Aroma is lightly of cocoa, even lighter of peanut butter. On tasting, smooth, chocolatey. Finish has a late arriving and short lasting roast, an excellent balance for this fine dessert beer.

Starting off, a pint can's contents are completely emptied into a clear glass liter mug. Its color is richly black coffee brown and it carried a short-lived brown head. The smell is almost entirely of roasted barley malt and coffee. There's not much of a sniff of the chocolate, vanilla, nor peanut butter, listed as ingredients. To taste, there's more of a candy sweetness than expected, but the level of peanut butter is close to negligible. The roasted bite is only vaguely present, as the vanilla, chocolate and lactose greatly soften that edge. This is basically an imperal dessert stout that brings more sweetness than any specifice taste characteristics. Some chocolate, a little vanilla and much less peanut butter lie behind basically, a sweet milk stout. The alcohol level is well disguised, but there's no glass lacing to contemplate. Its body is mediocre for a good stout. There are richer and fuller bodied Imperial Stouts out there. It's sweet and drinkable, but without much taste character. There are better dessert stouts and better Imperial Stouts.

Seriously looks like a glass of motor oil.
Very light carbonation with a thick body and a little oily.
Aroma is roasted espresso beans, roasted malt and peanut butter.
Taste is where the vanilla and chocolate show but otherwise stays true to aroma.

Actually had this on June 4, 2022 and just found my notes so adding this r3eview.

A - Dark brown pour with no lacing or carbonation.

S - Chocolate, liquid fudge, very light vanilla, and some peanut butter.

T - Follows the nose with chocolate, fudge, and minimal peanut butter. Ends with some residual fudge sweetness and light vanilla.

M - Thick, viscous, silky smooth, lip smacking sticky, and leaves a bone dry finish around the tongue leaving the rest of the mouth wet.

O - Represents well, it's a dessert Stout.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours an inky black with a nice medium-tan head. No lacing to speak of. Initial impression is, well, ice cream: maybe rocky road or chocolate chip. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Finish is fairly sweet, but tasty. I couldn't drink more than a couple of these at a sitting, but in moderation it's pretty good.

Pours a deep dark mahogany with a caramel colored head.

Smells of peanut butter, dark chocolate, and sweet malt.

Taste is peanut butter malt, dark chocolate, and creamy ice cream. Very good, but a little cloying.

Very approachable version of an ice cream stout. This has a deep almost pitch black color. Very subtle chocolate smell. Not much in the way of head. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin. There’s an upfront cocoa flavor followed by a slight peanut butter hint. Overall, a pretty good dessert stout. Not overly sweet.
