Broken Heels Pineapple – from New Trail Brewery. 16 oz can. In reefer at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Acquired 11/10/23, $ 3.50 (Including tax), $ 0.219/fl oz. Reviewed 18/10/23 (Review 3168). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “CANNED ON (blurred)2023”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 43.3 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 48.0 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.5
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), hazy.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), murky and opaque. Under direct light, same with moderate white precipitate present. When rear-lite, same.
Head: Average (Maximum 3.6 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density. Reduces, leaving a six mm crown and a thin partial cap.
Lacing – Excellent! Wide rings of very tiny to small bubbles, with stalactites and narrow columns – looks like they’ll break into torn curtain lacing with time.
Aroma – 4.25 – Moderate pineapple aroma. No malt, some hops, no yeast. No ethanol (7 % ABV according to the label).
Flavor – 4.25 – Solid pineapple taste. Slight malty taste, distinct hops, no yeast. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends with weak gastric warming, slightly bitter.
Palate – 4.25 – Medium; approaching creamy; soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4.25 Easy drinking, good pineapple flavor but weak nose. One of the few from New Trail I’d buy again.

Canned on date: ?????

A - Extremely hazy pour that's a medium orange/pineapple gold color with dense white lacing.

S - Citrus, pineapple, spicy pineapple rind, and a touch of tropical fruit.

T - Citrus, tropical fruit, and pineapple from start to finish. Ends on the sweeter side with residual citrus and pineapple. There's a slight bit of cloying on the backside at the very beginning until the palate adjusts.

M - Big medium body with gentle carbonation.

O - Unobtrusive and easy drinking.

Undated (WTF) can into pint glass. Pours a very hazy bright gold with a brief off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is, yeah, pineapple. Soft mouthfeel. Finish is more pineapple. Not too sweet, not bitter, easy to drink. What's not to like?

Pours a light, hazy yellow with a white head.

Pineapple, citrus, pine nut, and bread in the nose.

Pineapple, citrus, sweet bread, with dry flowery herb notes.
