From a 12oz can dated "Canned On" 09/16/25 into a pint glass.
Pours a very pale translucent straw color with about one finger of white head. Meh retention and a touch of lacing.
Light aromas of lemon, grass and faint black pepper.
Taste is dominated by the lemon. Maybe a hint of floral in there too. Tastes are not overwhelming.
Thin-bodied with medium carbonation. Not much aftertaste.
Nothing offensive here. Maybe a step above light macros.

Got 6 pack of pounder cans @ giant eagle in Pittsburgh for....$5 !!!
Good session/hot weather beer.
I dump some sea salt in for a flavor boost.
Good with pretty much any food.
Refreshing without hammering you.
I'm gonna go get a few more 6 packs...

This one meets expectations for a light lager. Pale yellow/straw color with quickly dissipating foam. Scents and flavors of cereal grains and cracker with a dry lemony zest. Easy drinking and smoother than the macros. Just fine for someone looking for a craft alternative to Miller Lite. Fuller in body and feel than the usual light beer options. A must for Penn State fans, which this beer obviously is aiming at.

New Trail Brewing Co. "State Light"
16 fl. oz. can seemingly without production codes or freshness dating
$2 @ Javies Beverage, Phila., PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is obviously a brand aimed at Penn State Students and alumni, which is fine except that it reminds me I've got come up with another $11,000 installment towards my daughters tuition. :( It's poured a lightly hazy straw gold body beneath a short head of bright white foam. Head retention, and I'm assuming lacing, are apparently not its best qualities. The aroma is grainy and lightly sweetish and I wonder if there's any adjunct involved as it smells pretty much like a Pilsner without any hops. On to the taste, it's quite similar to the aroma. There are some mild hop flavors but I can't even pick out what they are; it's definitely not American hops though. It's clean, which is what really counts, and balanced. As a "light" beer it's also not bad at 105 calories per 12 oz. serving, and at just 4.2% ABV you could drink a few if you wanted to. Personally i find it a bit too boring for that but one isn't bad. It's light-medium in body and pleasantly crisp with a standard carbonation level. I'll dock it for the light haze and the lack of head retention and lacing but otherwise it's a pretty decent lager.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug. No date stamp on can or label. Beer was gifted to me by my brother, who lives in Pennsylvania and is a Penn State Alum. I say Go Blue! ;)
Back to the beer.
It pours a clear champagne gold and rests slightly darker gold in the glass. A bleached white short lived fizzy head goes about 1.5 cm and is faded to nothing soon after the pour.
Aroma is sweet and grainy with a little bit of grassy hop balance. But nose is definitely sweeter side and not overly complex, or robust.
First sip reveals a light body with smooth sort of thin texture. Carbonation is very fine and tingly. Beer drinks super easy, which suits the style.
Flavor is grainy malt and some general sweetness, I get hints of grassy hops and then the beer is gone as it drinks fast. Not super robust flavor profile and not a lot of depth, but think that is the style.
Id do other craft lagers over this one if given the choice.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet, color is very light straw, strong effervescence, head presents 1 finger thick and dissipates to solid top with some lacing on glass sides.
Smell is grainy, thin, sweet, maybe some rice, light earthy hops.
Taste is similar with thin barley flavor, some rice, light hops with hint of grass.
Mouthfeel is lower carb than for style, moderate sweetness, low bitterness.
Overall a thinner light lager in the macro style, too light for me.

So sad NT are awesome craft but this one was mafe foftje mainstream and certaily tastes like it. In a blind taste test, i would of guess this was a product of a mass brewer.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of grains. Taste is mild, grains, malts, highly refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent example of a light beer.

16 oz. can. Nice hop presence which somewhat masks the low-cal flavor. Yellow body with a fluffy white head which was slow to dissipate. One of the better light lagers I've had.

Purchased at Nastase Beverage in Bellfonte.
LOOK: Pours extremely clear, bright and a very faint pale straw yellow with and all white head that quickly settles with some minimal side glass lace. Looks like the pour of a Mich Ultra. and not inviting at all.
AROMA: It's all in the form of grass, grain, corn husk. A light beer with 4.2% ABV with few interesting characterisitcs.
TASTE: Same as aroma and look. Has all the trademarks of an economy macro brew from the last century, Unfortunately no economy at $$34.99 case price.
New Trail just throwing something out there for PSU tailgating.

Excellent light American lager. I managed to find a six pack of pint cans for $8.99, which is only a dollar more than Miller Lite in my area. Sweet and simple, quite refreshing. These would probably be the perfect companion to brats and a ballgame.
