It may not look impressively, with its pasty yellow-amber color and much less attractive, or nearly non-existent head. The contents of the pint can quickly exited, leaving for a clear glass liter mug. Those that have sampled the hazies from this brewery know there’s no reason for concern. As they often do and do very well, things are softened by the amount of oats in the wort; but, almost always, the taste is remarkably amongst the best. The oats even soften the aroma here, but enough of the Citra and Sabro hops emanate to provide good expectations. This one isn't amongst their best, learned after tasting. There's more of an alcohol burn than expected, since they have brewed up some amazing heavy hitters that have at least as much, or more of an ABV that's better disguised. Maybe it's just the combination of the two hops that don't work well here. The taste is sharply bitter, in a citrus zest, yet woody way, maybe like turpentine and that's OK. But, there's no layer of counterbalance, no other taste layer to savor. The mouthfeel is good, particularly for an IPA that relies much on oats. Terrible? Far from it. It's just after having more than seventy-five offerings from this brewery, expecting a little better isn't unreasonable.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is murky/hazy straw gold, head presents 1 finger thick, head remains pretty solid, limited lacing.
Smell is citrus, stonefruit, some coconut, moderate wheat and biscuit like aromas.
Taste is sweet citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple and light coconut, wheat and biscuit; some booziness with warmth and starts to get a bit cloying in sweetness.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness, lingering sweetness.
Overall a sweeter, tropical fruit heavy DHIPA with notes of coconut and lingering sweetness and drying booziness with warmth. Average DHIPA from NT.
