Barrel Aged Barleywine is an English Barleywine brewed with an assortment of Dark German malts and is complimented by a light hop bill. Ripe dark fruits make up the majority of the deeply complex malt backbone. This drinks very easy drinking and highly dangerous. Aged for an EXCESSIVELY LONG time in Bourbon Barrels from Heaven Hill. Decadent, Lush, Vanilla

Aged large format bottle of the original barleywine that has been aged. Poured into chalice: color is solid black, head is very light tan and presents a scant top and dissipates to nothing/no lacing or lingering.
Smell is booze, aged barley malt, some aged hops, dark fruit, aged bourbon and oak, hint of vanilla.
Taste is more aged barley malt, light booze, aged hops, dark fruit, oak, bourbon esssence, subtle vanilla.
Mouthfeel is nearly non-existent carbonation, moderate sweetness, low bitterness even for style but could be aging.
Overall malty/barrelly brew but the barleywine characteristics seemed to have died overtime.
