Our friends from Warwick Farm are back for our 6th Birthday, and we brewed this special Hazy DIPA to celebrate. We went with an all New Zealand hop load, starting with the extremely beloved Nelson Sauvin which brings in notes of fresh crushed gooseberries and thoughts of white wine. Then two new experimental New Zealand hops known as NZH 105 and NZH 104. These two are overflowing with citrus and tropical characteristics.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is straw gold and opaque/hazy/murky (dense), head is brighter white with fine bubbles, head presents at least one finger thick and lingers well with a solid top and nice spotty lacing.

Smell is citrus, onion, white wine, maybe some biscuit, some booze with warmth.

Taste is similar with citrus, light onion, light grape, light biscuit, less booze esters, a bit sweet but not too thick.

Mouthfeel is low carbonation, moderate/high sweetness, lower bitterness.

Overall a less tropical HIPA from NT, but a bit sweet and thick in feel.

Pours an opaque orange with a thick cap of white head. The aroma is intense. Sweet like marzipan and marshmallow. The taste is also sweet with berries and tangerine. The finish gives a white wine flavor and a hint of alcohol burn. There's a nice, mellow bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied and very easy to drink for the 8.8% abv.

I really enjoy this. It is very sweet, and I could see that as a turn off. I, however, enjoy it because it's balanced and complex. There are some flavor profiles here that I don't often come across.

A - Opaque dark medium orange gold with moderate, dense creamy lacing.

S - Big juicy citrus, peach, and white grape.

T - Citrus, gooseberry, peach, and dank white grape from start to finish - starts sweet and ends sweet.

M - Soft, chewy medium body that's dry on the back of the palate and wet on the tip of the tongue.

O - I'm honestly not a fan of the gooseberry / white grape hop profile but have to say I'm enjoying this one.
