Poured from the can into a Libby style pilsner glass.
Faint bronze body color, with a hint towards orange. Slightly clear with maybe a hint of haze. Good bubbled sized head easily reaching two fingers with even some surprising retention. Bright white with a good living collar supported with real large amounts of fine carbonation.
Aroma is quite nice. Light caramel, with a clean lager sense, and a surprising red berried like fruit hiding in the background.
Quite a nice palate actually. Fruit mid palate that hits somewhere between red cherry and raspberry. Clean finish with mild sensing hop, and lighter bready malts and caramel tones. Some nice carbonation and more hits of honey and sticky malt make a presence after some time.
A pretty solid and enjoyable, and also memorable amber lager.

Pours a nice brassy copper color with a thin quickly fading head.
Taste wise it's a little bit on the herbal hoppy side in the finish, but overall it's a pretty good beer for the price.
Definitely a better option than Yuengling lager in my area.

Scents of an old style Bert Grant’s classic microbrewed Amber. Decent head on the pour with nice lacing down the glass. Slightly bitter cherry with a bit of toffee. No after taste. Nice price. Great local beer!

The beer was smooth and had a great taste. New Trail brews it in Williamsport. It went down really easily, and I can see myself enjoying three or four of them without any issues. Would I try it again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

Copper amber in color, little to no head--just fringe of the glass bubbles really. The nose is all malt--a bit of caramel but mostly bread. The flavor follows for the most part: caramel, toffee, bread. There's very little hop presence in this brew which gives the malt-forward approach a lot less zip than I was anticipating. On the plus side, a strong malty finish really stays in your mouth a long time. But ultimately, Crisp Amber is very one note, the malt is overdone, hops underdone. There is essentially nothing "crisp" about this beer. I'll take a pass.

Slightly more than a fingers of audibly fizzy crisp light khaki colored froth... Solid retention... Color is a honey orange amber... Malt forward nose... Sweet breads, caramel and toffee... Perhaps some fruity berry notes and mentholyptus (in a good way)... Palate is more bready and slightly less sweet but still quite inviting and good... On the lighter side of medium bodied... Crisp with a good carbonated bite... Excellent sessionable brew... Highly quaffable and a nice departure from NT's wonderful IPAs...

Taste is malty with notes of biscuit or bread. Nose is a little funky….

Two twelve ounce cans were emptied of their contents into a clear glass liter mug. The brew is bright light copper-amber and it's nearly translucent, save its color. A modest off-white head didn't last very long. It has a standard lager aroma. Ambers often seem a little maltier than the mass produced American lagers and this does, too. But, it also brings a little extra hoppiness to retain a good balance. Unfortunately, it includes a little more presence of yeast in the flavor and mouthfeel than is ideal. That doesn't make it taste badly, but it doesn't help it remain crisp. The hop finish certainly mitigates that mild glitch. There was no glass lacing. Yes, this is better than any adjunct American Lager, but at a craft beer price, there are better options.

4-7-2026 update: I purchased a 15-pack of cans at Wegman's for $16.99. This is the "cheapest" I've seen craft beer any time recently. I previously rated this a 4, and I've been craving an amber/brown/dunkel something, so I figured I'd give this a try, or 15. Poured into a tulip imperial pint glass. Beautiful amber color, frothy head with decent retention and lacing. Aroma and flavor feature caramel malt - lots of breadiness - and secondary grassy/citrusy/herbal hops. For the price I doubt that this can be beat. Not watery, not lacking in flavor, and as long as you're in a malty mood it hits the spot. Excellent.

Previous review: 16 oz draft pour at Frisco Taphouse in Gambrills, MD. Pours a clear light caramel color with a sudsy head. Aroma and flavor feature bready/biscuity malt and light noble hops with some grassiness and citrus. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with smooth. Just a tasty amber lager - solid and satisfying.

Well made lager that never gets too sweet. There is even a brown sugar note in there amongst the caramel/brown bread malt and spicy floral hops. Doesn't get syrupy, doesn't get cloying. Feel is slightly thin making these eminently crushable. Reminds me of what a brown ale might drink like if it were lighter and hoppier. I like NT's lager game, and this is another winner
