Waterfall Hazy Double IPA is cascading with tangerine forward citrus, light florals, and persistent tropical character from a dry hop load of Citra, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Nectaron. Pilsner and oats in the mashbill lead to a full mouthfeel but light finish. Go chasing waterfalls, and bring this one along with you.

Poured into a narrow imperial pint glass: color is dense hazy straw gold, head is off white with fine bubbles presenting one finger thick, head leaves solid top, spotty lacing.
Smell is mixed berry and stone fruit with some pineapple, pith afterwards, oat and light malt sweetness.
Taste is similar with berry and stone fruit backed by pineapple and pith, malt and oat are present but limited in flavor; very typical NT DHIPA.
Overall another thick DHIPA that is not too bitter and has limited malt flavor.

A bit murkier than usual. Fresh, juicy tropical aroma, hint of diesel. Some orange or possibly tangerine pokes through the intense tropical palate. It's difficult at this gravity to perceive many nuances. Marred slightly by some harshness in the finish.

Pours a hazy yellow with green lowlights and tight white head.
Floral and citrus hops with fresh mown grass and chalky sour fruit raspberry/green apple.
Floral and citrus hops cascade into green apple raspberry maybe just star fruit. But very good.

Slightly more than a fingers worth of active crisp light khaki colored froth... Solid retention... Color is a hazed yet vibrant tangerine... Lovely tropical fruit forward nose with some light floral notes as well... A bit musky as well... Palate mirrors the nose but the tropical fruit notes take a bit of a backseat... Interesting mix of hops that leave a bitter finish... Feel is medium with moderate carbonation and a chalky finish... Even and consistent with each sip... Nice beer, but a notch below excellent in most facets...

The entire contents of a pint can were deposited into a clear glass liter mug. The brew is straw-amber in color and opaque. There's plenty of starch in the aroma and whatever hops are there are overwhelmed. Above it, rests a substantial off-white head. The taste breaks out into a nice medley of hops, citrusy and piney. The starch backbone is so subdued in its contribution to the overall taste, this could pass as a West Coast IPA, at least as its hop profile goes. Two things not immediately present are glass lacing and a heavy taste of alcohol. But, the alcohol bite accumulates. However, the head was long lasting. Overall. It's not necessarily a memorable beer, but it certainly is enjoyable enough. New Trail rarely fails at producing hazy Imperial IPAs and this is decent. Of course, a little more barley malt in the mix could have added to the taste depth.
