Barrel Aged Werewolf is our Imperial Pumpkin Stout, brewed with layers of dark, caramel, and oat malts, then finished with pumpkin spices, vanilla and lactose. Laid to rest for many months in oak bourbon barrels from Willett. Werewolf emerges under the full moon carrying extra notes of oak, baking spice, and heat.

16oz can sent my way by @jzeilinger
Poured into an Allagash tulip

P black w/ a 1-2f dense tan head
N med-bold to bold sweet pumpkin, nutmeg, roast, and vanilla; bourbon and nuttiness come out as it warms
T big spices up front, followed by pumpkin, chocolate, and roast mid-palate; warming finish with booze, lingering spice, and roast; dotted w/ vanilla throughout; a tasty blend
Mf med to med-full bodied; smooth, w/ soft-med to med carb
O really enjoyable; complex and well-balanced; would definitely have again given the opportunity; thanks, J!

Received a cold 16 oz can from @jzeilinger 9-23-25. Canned 8-21-25; consumed 10-27-25. Cold stored since acquisition.

Beer poured black with a very nice tan head.

Nose is giving me vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.

Taste is a large lightly roasted malt base that works well with the pumpkin adjunct that blends right in and does not stand out. Cinnamon is a bit heavy handed. Getting some nutmeg and cloves in a subtle fashion. Barrel-aging brings a nice warmth on this cold rainy day and balances nicely.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.

Overall i typically don't buy this type of stout but i am happy @jzeilinger gave me the opportunity to try something different!

Not bad but falling short for my palette just a little. Too much pumpkin pie spice mix overwhelms a lot of other good stuff here Including much of the character from the willet barrels. It’s also just a little too prickly and fizzy for my taste. Decent but falls short of top notch.

Canned on: 8-21-25

A - Pitch black pour with a dense, thick creamy dark caramel colored lacing ring.

S - Chocolate char, spice, light oak, and a small amount of Bourbon.

T - Cinnamon, vanilla, spice, some vanilla, chocolate char malt base, along with some Bourbon and oak while finishing on the spicy sweeter side. The spices (especially the cinnamon) is a little bit strong and blots out the malt base

M - Thick (almost light syrupy), viscous, lip-smacking sticky, and warming on the way down in.the back of the throat.

O - A perfect sipper for this time of year and worth checking out.
