Vale Pale Ale is a Fall seasonal Pale Ale with a rich golden hue and a spectrum of lush hop and malt expressions. Brewed with a base of Marris Otter and Pilsner Malt and notable accents of Munich, Spelt, Wheat and Oats and generously hopped with Azacca, Ekuanot, and Galaxy - Complex layers of the whole fruit basket emerge from juicy Peach, Guava and Mango to ethereal Papaya and Passionfruit on the finish. Married with clean woodsy notes of evergreens and a crisp backbone of bitterness, Vale is a complex yet effortlessly balanced and joyful Ale to celebrate the changing of seasons.

Appearance: A dim, lightly hazy, off-gold appearance. Off-white head with glass-coating lace on the way down.
Smell: A potage of barley, wheat, oats, grain mill dust underscored by a subtle loaf bread breadiness. Pulped tropical fruits, hint of earthy spice.
Taste: Lightly bready but with a slight granola vibe. Light kiss of sweetness which quickly drops from the taste. Tropical fruitiness, lightly citrusy with a low subtle spiciness. Minimally bitter. Fruity, lightly tropical finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Eh, it's alright for a pint, though not one I would revisit.

20oz pour from cask at The Grand Delancey in NYC.
Initial pour is nitro-like, settles into a clear golden with a gorgeous, creamy, thick head. Smell is mildly musty, light grain -- if I pay attention, clearly some citrus.
Taste is interesting. Creamy honey (maybe?) sweetness, mild lemon zest, strong pine bitterness.
Mouthfeel is interesting. Creamy and smooth, soft, dry. Overall, this is a very nice beer.

On cask(!) @ The Grand Delancey in New York, NY.
From the cask into a nonic pint. Pours much lighter in color than expected; somewhere between straw and pale gold. Amazing, brilliant clarity. Aroma explodes with citrusy American hops. Thankfully, there is a strong malt backbone for all of those hops to play off of. Medium bodied. This is a delight to drink!
A fruity, hoppy, sweet malty masterpiece! Well done, Dutchess. I will be seeking out more of your beers in the future.
