A rarity and interesting story....
At Eataly Chicago's beer section (where American brews now outnumber Italians), I found this last bottle (with a Best By date from a month ago.) The brewer (translated as The Fox and The Hops) was not on BA and has three reviews only on RateBeer. From them, I find out this is brewed on the island of Sardinia and go to the brewer's website. Torraghettai is the best-seller of five brews in their lineup. The importer is Buon Gusto, here in Chicago. I know enough to pop the top.
It really doesn't Look different than an average BPA. It Smells as much of yeast as malt. While the yeast/malt interaction is fruity/lemony, the mid-palate lets the 37 IBU hops in and there is balance. This is a thin ale, but also finishes both dry and smooth. And the yeast-malt-hops balance makes garlicky food taste better (hence extra points.)
OA: Perhaps one step past home-brewing, craft-brewing is alive in a small town in Sardinia. And they knew how to preserve an effective yeast. Now if I could just find another bottle.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
