From the 500 ml bottle in a snifter via Bluejacket74----Cheers Dude!
This exceptional ale pours a oil slick black with a quickly fizzling head
of foam that subsides to a thin faint ring. Nose of spicy rye, vanilla,
cocoa, char, and dark fruits. Flavors surpass the nose with spicy rye,
subtle oak, rich vanilla, deep roast and char, dark cocoa, and earthy
malts with touches of blueberry and cream. Nice mouth feel; full, smooth,
rich, coating, slick, light carbonation, and a warming finish that finishes
with a bitter malt note and lightly dry.
Overall----a SOLID brew from a newer to me brewery!
Cheers

500 ml black wax capped bottle, 2020 vintage, released on 11/25/2020. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with maybe a half inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much if any lacing at all. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, rye whiskey, oak, cocoa and roasted malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of cream and earthy flavors. Nice amount of barrel character in both the aroma and taste. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit syrupy and slick with a low amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good barrel aged brew, definitely worth trying if you get the chance to!
