Aged for one year in a barrel formerly used to hold bourbon, then maple syrup, then our Imperial Stout. A huge maple presence on the nose followed by sweet chocolate leaving with residual maple flavor on the pallete.

500 ml orange wax capped bottle, pretty sure this was released 3-4 weeks ago. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with maybe a quarter inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. Could definitely smell the maple as soon as I opened the bottle! There's also vanilla, roasted malt, fudge and a hint of bourbon noticeable too. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, with maple, vanilla, fudge, oak, caramel, roasted malt, dark bread and bourbon flavors. As with the aroma, I think the fudge stands out here. Bourbon character is noticeable but not strong. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's rich and a bit creamy with a lower/moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was tasty, certainly worth trying if you're into maple beers!
