Foeder aged Ohio wild ale with local Paw Paw.

Scrumper's delight features one of the most elusive fruits, paw paw. Our friend Jay McGrath approached us in the fall with paw paw that he had foraged here in the Miami Valley. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to use this rare fruit in one of our beers. We hope you enjoy this unique treat!

500 ml bottle, Batch #2. No dating I noticed. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with not quite an inch white head that didn't stay around for too long. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like citrus, paw paw, oak and white grapes. Taste is similar to the aroma but has more of a tart kick! There's also some earthy, bready malt and funky flavors noticeable. Very, very tart brew! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one a lot, if you like paw paws and/or tart tasting brews in general then definitely try this one if you're able to!
