Like its Laphroaig cousin, this English style barleywine spent almost three years in Stagg Jr. barrels before being transferred into a Pedro Ximenez sherry barrel for almost half a year.
The sherry barrel imparted notes of grape, cherry, and honey to complement the oak from both barrels and rich toffee and molasses of the beer. This beer is a complex delight that can be consumed immediately or aged further and savored later.
