I've only had a few grisettes before this, and this does not seem like a grisette. I'd call it a saison, and too heavy on the typical saison spices. They should turn all that down and make this a delicate beer, which is what I think grisettes are supposed to be. Delicate flavors to match the light body. This is very effervescent, that's an interesting quality but doesn't really go with the other elements.
As I write about it I realize this is a rare drainpour from Urban Roots. I think I've had enough.
Bought in can from John's Marketplace, Powell Blvd, Portland.

So I just said on the parent company ownership site (lulz) that this beer was a victim of the brewery's success. For you see, expectations were high, but it was still good, but not UE levels ya know? Anyhoo, I can say this was probably the best looking grisette I've ever had. Amazing clarity, bright golden color and nearly 1" of virgin white head. Remarkably sexy. Purchase was a 4 pack of cans in Reno.

The aroma had a light grain aspect. I had another grisette last week, from NY, and it totally had this massive belgo yeast going for it. This is neutral, and better for it. Light grain and even lighter tart smack.

Taste is good, has the grain levity, has a light lemon in your wheat feel. The mouth feel keeps the levity train rolling, flavor but without the heft. Avoids having a foray into wild ale territory that is so popular with the saison style and substyles like grisette. Found it to be really clean and lacking funkiness. Good beer with food, sawftball or hot weather.

Had on tap at Murphys Tap House in Louisville CO

On arrival a 1 finger head made up of fine bubbles with good retention forms. Body is a standard golden blonde straw with light fine carbonation, and is crystal clear. Some very nice lacing is left.

Aroma is light and has a touch of that distinct farmhouse funk. There is also a ligjt but bright citrus, potentially hoppy note. A lot of esters in this one a nice blonde saison. Fruity funky and also very drinkable.

Taste follows the aroma with some nice farmhouse vibes, although a bit light followed by a standard but very clean blond ale nalt bill. Again some light but bright citrus notes are present.

Feels us light drinkable refreshing and smooth, despite the farmhouse aromas and tastes. The ABV is relatively low and makes it easy to put down and the citrus plus light malts make for a very nice refreshing feel.

Overall this is a nice but also quite light blonde saison.
