Straw to gold in hue. Fluffy white head rises, persists, and leaves thin layers of lacing.
Smell is a smooth blend of smoke, gentle herbal spice, and a hint of bread sweetness.
The flavor follows the nose perfectly. Truth in advertising. All the notes to expect from a helles but with a kiss of smoke.
Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, active, and the gentle smoke cuts into the herbal spice on the finish.
Overall, a solid Welles with some rauch.

A clear glowing golden yellow with a dense, white head with great retention and lacing. The nose is softly smoky, delicate and with smoldering wet wood and wet grass. A mild lemony and earthy hop character as well. Soft Munich malt sweetness along with a hint of leather? The palate opens softly smoky and with a blend of honey, Munich malt and delicate smoke. Clean, allowing the smoke and base malt to play off each other well. Soft, clean, mildly sweet on the finish. Gorgeous, though I wish there were a little more smoke.
