We brewed All Possible Futures using a double mash for extra concentrated malt flavor and aroma. The resulting beer is just packed full of intense caramel, toffee, and biscuity bready rich malt from 100% Simpsons Maris Otter & Crystal malt. The beer was put into Stagg Jr bourbon barrels in April of 2022 and aged for two years further intensifying the caramel notes and imparting intense bourbon, vanilla, and mild oak. Between the age and the barrels, the beer developed brown sugar like sweetness swirling with all the intense toffee and bourbon barrel character with a mild chocolatey finish. It's a truly special beer that was just over two years in the making that we are so excited about in the brewery.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. 2024 vintage. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt,Pours a Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a fine, half finger khaki head with great retention and slippery lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt, brown bread, dates, dried plums and toffee. Flavor is caramel malt, dried plums, bourbon, dates, raisins and toffee. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A fine English style barley wine, still a bit hot, but not too bad for a nearly 15% big ale. Nice caramel and excellent dark dried fruit. Good bourbon barrel character. Very dark for the style. Rich and flavorful. Nicely done. This years comes in at 14.5%, but the malt handles it well. Looks, smells and tastes great.

Likely 2023 @ 10.7%. On tap.
Dark caramel brown color. Tan head.
Brown sugar, plums, caramel, molasses, toffee, bakers spice, red apple skins, wet oak, vanilla. Touch of butterscotch. Warming bourbon. This has it all going on. A bit sweet, great barrels, excellent base beer. What’s not to like?

2023 Batch at 10.7% ABV! Sweet caramel-toffee, hint of butterscotch, faint hint of dark fruits, and a bourbon barrel boozy nose on this one! Really good aromatics for a Barleywine. Taste follows with a tasty, medium-bodied, caramel-toffee, and balanced bourbon barrel boozy finish. As it warms, a hint of hoppiness appears. At 10.7 % ABV, it packs a lot of flavor in a lighter ABV barrel-aged package. Good stuff!
