On tap at Simon Kenton Inn, Springfield OH. Served in a shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Clear amber with a thick off white head. Some thick sheets on initial lacing that slowly died away.
Smell: Toasted malt and floral/English style hops.
Taste: A perfect balance of toasted malt and English bitter hops.
Mouthfeel: Good thickness and carbonation for the style. A little sticky on the teeth.
Overall / Drinkability: The brewer must really know and like the ESB style because I almost never see this style at most breweries in the US. This is indeed a good example of a ESB and is easily drinkable and enjoyable. Went really well with dinner (breaded chicken breast and pasta) and is something I will have to look out for. Well done!
