Stopped over to this place after I saw it as a verified location on Untappd from my hotel. Looked like the tap list was pretty solid, albeit small. There was some kind of country music shindig going on when I got there. Online description read, “Named after Clovis’ heritage of agriculture and cowboys! This Rye IPA is bourbon’esk. Brewed with corn and rye using Columbus, Galina and Crystal for an earthy and sweet fruit finish.”
Poured a copper-to-light brown, slightly murky color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki-white rocky head when I got it. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the cup. Excellent foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled spicy rye, skunk, spicy wood, toffee, caramel, nuts and oak. (Smell - 3.50)
Tasted bitter spicy wood, spicy rye, brown bread, unsalted pretzel, nuts, oak and toast. (Taste - 2.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Dry, spicy finish. (Feel - 3.00)
Did not care for this at all. (Overall - 3.00)
