Brown in color but light shines through the center of the glass easily. Modest one-finger head which drops to a thin film of bubbles. No lacing, though.
Unsweetened mocha aroma. Rich nose. Attractive with no metallic aroma I often get from Nut Browns.
Mild start to the beer with less malt than expected...initially. This may be because the body leans thin (and the carbonation is above average). Holding the liquid in my mouth, I get a full flavored chocolate malt experience although not as chocolatey as the smell. The swallow draws a notable hop bitterness with a touch of yeast. The aftertaste has a touch of coffee to it. Overall, a fairly complex brown ale.

Dark brown in color with a slight Amber tint.
The smell is very nutty with notes of coffee and brown sugar.
Taste is very similar to smell with a moderately dry finish.
This is a great brown that really lives up to the nut brown name. It's fairly simple, but I think that's part of what makes it so good.
