Bad Matter is a part of the Through the Glass family of beers, but it is also an important placeholder.
To make a long story short, we didn’t trademark our name when we opened and a very large brewery with fermenters the size of Toronto condos did. We released this beer to be first to market with the name “Bad Matter” in the event we had to change our name. Thankfully we didn’t have to, because said big brewery was awesome and let us have it. So this beer still exists as a piece of history that calls back to a time where we were younger, dumber, and almost had to change our brewery name, but got crazy lucky and were shown mercy by the beer and/or trademark gods.
Dry hopped with Citra, Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin, this beer flexes layers of orange, pineapple, dank gooseberry and apricots.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Doesn't have a date on it except the year, 2023. Got it in a "trade" with @Coronaeus that the Canadian government broke up.
Pours murky pale yellow with a huge frothy head. Really huge. Smell is powerful, blasting as soon as the can is cracked. Tropical juice and citrus pith and hop resin.
Taste is pretty close down the line of the smell, though it leans pretty far into overripe fruit as well.
Mouthfeel is fluffy, velvety. Overall, it's a good hazy IPA.

I can hardly keep up with adding all these IPAs here from Badlands Brewing.
This one is brilliant. Not as acidic as some of their other offering, Bad Matters leaves barely a lacing but has a fantastic nose of floral citrus. The taste is muted, not quite as citrusy as some others, but it's still well balanced, as it's not as bitter either. A bit extra carbonation though, I find. But then it was just bottled two days ago.
A really well made beer.
