arguably the best of the three pale lagers they had on tap in here, impressive in its own right, but this is the most refined of them, the lightest to drink, and probably the best proportioned, its still not amazing, not on the level of their pale or hazy, but it shows some potential. its the yeast thats just not quite right, rather the yeast is right, obviously a lager yeast strain and i can smell and taste it, but its not used correctly, like it was too warm or too short or both, not that there is much residual sugar in here, but the beer is yeasty in taste which is odd in this style and its not snappy and crisp and the end like i want it to be. the grain is great though, fresh and nutty and with a little bit of substance, not as boring as it easily could be and i appreciate that. similarly the hops are subtle but also evident, light pine on the end of this rather than a more expected noble profile, but they are well restrained. good carbonation and light to drink without being watery. this is close to being solid, and the name is already there.
