Small pint pour offered while I waited for my growler fill. Poured a coppery brown amber with a one finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, mild smoke. Flavor is caramel and biscuit, mild smoke and hints of coffee; semi-dry finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Somewhat drier and lighter caramel than typical for a Scottish ale, but the malt carries the smoke quite nicely. Small pour, but I would have enjoyed a full glass of this.
